Striker Signs Up For 2021/22
Manager Jay Saunders has added another important recruit his 2021/22 squad.
Following the news of Ben Greenhalgh’s arrival from from National League South side, Tonbridge Angels on Tuesday evening, the club can confirm centre-forward Norman Wabo has also agreed terms for the upcoming campaign.
Gate fans will finally get to see the exciting young prospect play at HDP this season. The striker, who signed for Margate just before the season was curtailed, has committed his future to the club.
Gate fans will look forward to seeing Wabo build upon his impressive debut when the former Southend United player scored a brace against Aylesbury United.
Saunders expressed his delight at securing Wabo’s services:
“I made no secret of the fact Norman is a player I’ve liked and we had to be patient to get him last season but unfortunately he was limited to just one appearance before the season was curtailed.”
“In that game alone I think he demonstrated exactly what he can bring to our team and be a real handful at this level. He is a young, hungry striker who wants to score goals, get on the end of things and will cause defenders headaches.”
“Ben and Norman are two players I hoped we could attract and with the group we’re building, the squad is shaping up nicely. There is still lots of work to do but this is an extremely positive start and a brilliant foundation to work upon over the next few weeks.”
