Just 48 hours after Boxing Day’s game at HDP, The ‘Gate are on the road heading for East Grinstead Town for matchday #22 of the league season!

Last time out on Boxing Day we drew 2-2 against Ramsgate in front of a sold-out crowd. Read the match report from that game by clicking here.

EAST GRINSTEAD – THEIR SEASON SO FAR:

The Wasps are currently lying in midtable (14th), on 25 points from 20 games. They started their season visiting Glebe and winning 0-2 away from home in the FA Cup extra preliminary round. Then came the game against Margate in the league opener and it ended 0-0. After that draw, in the FA Cup preliminary round they lost to Redhill at home and were knocked out.

Four successive league games followed, and East Grinstead picked up four points, winning one, drawing one and losing the other two. Their FA Trophy run was over at the first hurdle after losing 2-1 away at Hartley Wintney. Another four league came after that cup exit, but this time they only picked up three points, just winning once away at Phoenix Sports.

After a penalty win in the Sussex County Cup second round, they followed that up with a win in the league away at Steyning Town, but a loss to Ashford sandwiched another away win, this time against Three Bridges. In November, The Wasps won just once, out of six games, losing the other five. December has been much better though, going undefeated so far in four games (winning two and drawing two) with a superb 2-1 win over Ramsgate coming at the start of this month.
