Signings For The Gate
Margate have made additions to the Hartsdown Park squad for the rest of the 2017/18 campaign with the signings of goalkeeper Louis Wells and attacking midfielder Baselle Aristride, besides welcoming back popular goalscorer Orlando Smith.
Wells signs for the club on a dual registration from Concord Rangers, providing Manager Steve Watt - should he need it - cover for either Lenny Pidgeley or Patrick Lee.
Aristride joins the Blues having made a handful of appearances for Bostik League rivals Kingstonian this season. His signing adds to Watt’s attacking arsenal after the news of Kane Haysman’s long-term injury. Aristride will be available to make his debut against Worthing FC this afternoon.
The double signing adds to the news earlier this week that Orlando Smith returns for his second spell at the club this season.
Speaking about the signings, the gaffer said:
“I’m pleased we’ve been able to add some options to our squad. Louis is a really experienced keeper who we’ve brought in more as cover for Pidge and Patch.”
“After Kane’s injury we wanted to freshen things up top and I'm delighted to have secured Baselle's services and hope he can hit the ground running for us."
"Our fans know all about the threat Orlando brings. He’s a fantastic character and I’m delighted we can welcome him back to the set up.”
“We’ve got a tough run of games ahead and we want to do our best to secure a play-off place, hopefully these additions will give the squad a boost and a bit of extra cover for the injuries we’ve been covering.”
