Football returns to Hartsdown Park as we welcome Canvey Island for Matchday eleven of the season in the Isthmian Premier Division.

Margate returned to their winning ways as they beat Corinthian Casuals away from home in a solid 1-0 victory. An even first half saw the teams go into the break at a stalemate, however, it was Margate to strike first with the only goal of the game with a penalty as Korrey Henry was pushed in the box on the 49th minute. Who else but Ben Greenhalgh stepped up and scored. Margate would then see out the rest of the game to get a crucial three points and a clean sheet.

This result sees Margate climb to 12th on 12 points with three wins, three draws, and four losses. The visitors, Canvey Island, sit in 6th on 18 points with five wins, three draws and two losses.

This will be Canvey Island’s first trip to Hartsdown Park since September 2014 when the Blues won 4-2 in the 2014/15 season as they won promotion from the Isthmian Premier Division. This is the away sides first year back in the Isthmian Premier after being promoted from the Isthmian North via the play-offs last season.
