Carshalton Athletic (A) - 16th March 2024

By Josh Cole

After Tuesdays postponed match against Cheshunt, we turn our attention to Saturday as we travel to take on Carshalton Athletic!

Last time out we suffered a heavy defeat away to Hashtag United 4-2. Read the full match report from that game by clicking here.

OPPONENTS SEASON SO FAR:

Carshalton started the season in red hot form with the robins going unbeaten until the eighth game, with them winning five and drawing two. After losing to Hashtag which ended their unbeaten run, they then went winless for the next four games (losing two and drawing two) before they beat Folkestone 3-1 at home. In the next five league games before they travelled to Hartsdown Park, they have lost all of them, only scoring three goals in those five games and conceding 14. They ended that rut with a 1-0 away win, keeping a clean sheet for the first time since the end of September. Back-to-back wins for the Robins as they beat Whitehawk but suffered a loss to Dulwich. They bounced back in the right way, by winning 0-6 away at Haringey Borough and they carried that momentum for the next five games where they went undefeated winning three and drawing two which involved a 2-2 draw at home to runaway leaders, Hornchurch. A tough game against relegation threatened Cray ended that run of not losing but Carshalton went straight back to fine form. In their final six games leading up to this match, they have drawn four and won two, which includes their last result, a 1-2 away win at Horsham confirming that they are in the hunt for the playoff spots.
