Blues Appoint Usman as U23's Manager
Margate Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Salim Usman as the new U23’s Manager, after Paul Lamb stepped down due to increased work commitments.
The Club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Paul for his time and effort in producing some fantastic memories for our U23’s squad, which culminated in the club lifting the Kent Intermediate Cup in May at Hartsdown Park.
Making the step up to become Manager will be Usman, who worked closely with Lamb as his Assistant Manager last season.
Usman will be familiar to many Blues fans as he has worked across the whole Youth section, including mini-soccer, right through to now managing our U23’s side for the forthcoming campaign.
Usman’s side will once again compete in the Isthmian South East Development League, and will play all home games at Hartsdown Park on our state of the art 3G surface.
With the Development League starting slightly later than the first team, the new manager is seeking for more players ahead of the new campaign, and requests anyone under the age of 23 looking for a club to contact secretary@margate-fc.com with a football CV.
The new Manager will take training when the squad returns for pre-season on Tuesday 19th July 2022.
The club would once again like to thank Paul Lamb for his dedication to the role, and equally wish Salim all the best for the new season.
