Jinadu "Excited" To Develop Further At HDP
By Josh Cole
Daniel Jinadu is “excited” to get started with Margate after joining on dual registration basis from Dartford, and says he will do all he can to propel Margate up the league standings ahead of our trip to Corinthian Casuals on Tuesday evening.
“I am very excited, it’s a great club and I'm just happy to be here and play my part, do my bit for the team and contribute to winning games and keeping clean sheets”.
Jinadu made his first appearance in a Margate shirt just days after signing for the Blues against Billericay in the FA Trophy and he believes despite the defeat he was still satisfied with his own performance.
“I feel like it was a good game for me, getting involved, I made a good save early on to keep us in the game but with two goals, one v one and a rebound for the first one and then the second one in the top corner so it was difficult but other than that I feel I played well with the goal kicks and claiming the crosses and it was a good experience but very frustrated to lose the game as I feel we had a lot of chances to get ahead and come back when we were 1-0 down”.
“I consider myself a very good shot stopper, as well as a very good communicator so I bring my physical presence to the team, organising the defence and making sure the team is structured from my point of view as well as that I have good distribution”.
Jinadu spent the 2021/22 season with Barnsley in the EFL Championship, being in and around the first team and playing for the U23’s. He reflected on this experience with gratitude and said it lit a “fire in his belly” to go and reach that level.
“It was definitely a surreal experience being involved with the first team there being third choice goalkeeper there and playing my games with the u23’s also got on the bench for five championship games, so it was a good experience learning from experienced goalkeeper’s who are there so being on the bench in the championship and watching the players it really drove that fire inside of me to want to play at that high level, almost got on one time but it didn’t happen, but I keep pushing using the experience there to help me learn being in and around the high quality and high demand environment it’s just helped me massively improve and develop as a goalkeeper”.
Jinadu was “excited” at the prospect of making his league debut on Tuesday 11th October against Corinthian Casuals and hopes the team can “bounce back” following the exit of the Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday at the hands of Billericay Town.
“I'm looking forward to it, looking forward to bouncing back, hopefully we can get back at it and come together as a team to get those three points and kick on for the season”.
The Club can confirm that 'keeper Owen Kallmeier has left the club to focus on work commitments. The keeper spent seven seasons with the Blues and we wish him all the best for the future.
