MATCH PREVIEW / Haringey Borough (H) - 4th October 2022
Haringey Borough (H) - 4th October 2022
By Josh Cole
The ‘Gate are back under the lights at Hartsdown Park for Matchday nine against Haringey Borough.
Last time out: The ‘Gate fell to a 3-1 defeat away at Aveley FC with all goals coming in the first half. The hosts opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Kenny Aileru who guides home a ball in from the right-hand side. Aveley received a red card in the 19th minute after Riley-Snow committed two yellow card offences. This, however, would not disrupt the hosts as they doubled their advantage over the Blues in the 23rd minute through George Sykes as he beats Lewis Knight and slots home past Tangara. It would get even worse for Margate as Aveley scored a third in the 35th minute of play through a scruffy goal from a corner where it seemed to come off Tangara and go in. The ‘Gate would manage to pull one back in the 48th minute of the first half through Cameron Brodie, who continues his fine form in front of goal, as he turns home a Ben Greenhalgh free kick.
Taylor Fisher (ankle) and Troy Howard (ankle) continue to be sidelined, missing the clash against Haringey Borough.
This latest result sees the ‘Gate sat in 16th position after eight games with eight points, two wins, two draws and four losses. Our opponents, Haringey Borough, sit three places above in 13th, only two points ahead having played one game extra than the Blues.
Last year the Blues enjoyed their fixtures against Haringey, picking up four points out of a possible six with a 2-2 draw away and a 3-1 win at Hartsdown Park in March.
