Smith Joins Blues From Bromley
Margate Football Club is delighted to announce the loan signing of prolific striker David Smith from National League Premier side Bromley.
Smith, 23 will join the Blues until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Smith scored 35 goals in all competitions last season for Folkestone Invicta, including 29 in the Isthmian Premier Division.
The striker joined Bromley in the summer signing a 2-year contract, however he spent the start of the season on loan at Hornchurch before returning to the National League side.
Smith links up with Blues boss Andy Drury who he played with last season during their time together playing at Folkestone Invicta.
Drury said: “I am over the moon that David has agreed to join us for the rest of the season. I know the impact that David can make as I saw it last year at Folkestone”.
“He is one of the most composed finishers in the division. I want to thank the owner, Ricky and the Board for their hard work in getting this deal over the line”.
Drury continued, “This is a big signing for us and I hope that everyone will welcome David to the club when we face Billericay Town on Friday night at Hartsdown Park”.
Smith will be available for selection on Friday evening and will also be available to play for the Blues in both the DFDS Kent Senior Cup and Velocity Trophy this season where we have reached the Quarter-Finals.
Everyone at Hartsdown Park would like to welcome David to Hartsdown Park.
