Ben Bridle-Card Signs On For 2022/23 Season

Margate FC can confirm Ben Bridle-Card has agreed to remain at Hartsdown Park for the 2022/23 season.

Ben played an integral part of Jay Saunders side during the 2021/22 season, which saw the ‘Gate finish 8th in the Isthmian Premier Division, as well as reach their first League Cup final in 24 years.

The 25-year old signed for the Blues from Sevenoaks in November, and played an integral part in the clubs run of four clean sheets in a row throughout February.

Since signing in November, the shot stopper has featured 29 times for the ‘Gate, and also won the February Golden Glove award in February from the Isthmian League.

Manager Jay Saunders says he is pleased to secure the services of Bridle-Card ahead of the new season.

“Firstly, it is great to have Ben on board for next season. I have spoken about the need for stability, and with him staying it takes us to four from last season having already committed”.

“Ben showed the fans what they can do and I know our fans will be pleased that he will be with us next season”.

Saunders went onto add that he is close to finalising deals with other players from last season’s squad.

“We are close to a few more being signed on. I like the look of the squad that we are building, you only have to look at teams at the top last season and see how they have had a similar squad for a few seasons”.

“That togetherness helps build momentum and it is something the club has failed to do in recent history. With Ben and the three that we announced before the end of the season it is exciting times”, Saunders added.

Keep your eyes peeled for further announcements over the coming days as Jay looks to secure the services of further players and shape his squad ahead of the 2022/23 season at Hartsdown Park.
