MATCH REPORT / Margate Get Off To A Flyer At Home
Margate Ladies were looking forward to their first home league game on Sunday after three consecutive away fixtures to start the 20/21 season.
The team's match fitness and cohesion has improved with every game but we knew our visitors Long Lane would be looking to improve on recent results.
The Bluebirds started strongly and set the tone for the 90 minutes straight from the whistle as they created chance after chance but came across the visiting keeper in sublime form.
Somehow it took until just before the break for The Blues to open the scoring as Jess Laker bundled home from a corner.
It was much of the same in the second period as the Gate controlled the game but it was only when the superb visiting keeper picked up a nasty looking knee injury and was stretchered off, the blues showed a ruthless side and went for the jugular scoring 12 more unanswered goals and the final score ending in a 13-0 victory for the ladies.

Next up for Margate is an away trip to Cray Valley this Sunday followed by the much anticipated visit from Ramsgate Women on Sunday 11th October.
