Meridian Ladies (H) - 26th February 2023

After a week off, Margate Ladies return to League action as they face Meridian at Hartsdown Park on Sunday afternoon.

This is the second of a run of home fixtures for the side who are hoping home advantage will lead to some positive results and a boost in team moral and confidence after a rocky end to the year. Despite their 5-0 away at Glebe, the side lost a thrilling encounter at home to Dartford Development side by a 2-0 score-line last time out.

Meridian are currently 10th in the league just two points clear of relegation, so no doubt will be coming to Hartsdown Park fighting for what could be a crucial three points to ease their relegation fears. Margate however, sit comfortably at 4th in the league just six points off 3rd place and with a game in hand.

A win this week could be a timely boost ahead of next week’s League Cup Semi-Final at home to Tunbridge Wells Foresters.

The Gate saw some 150 fans attend their last fixture and are hoping this support will continue, with fans returning for more action this weekend. Despite the gap in league position, this is set to be a thrilling battle with both teams have conceded the same amount of goals this season and each team having lost two of their last three fixtures. Three points this weekend could be pivotal for either team!

Kick-off is scheduled for 2:30pm at Hartsdown Park with Free Entry for all.
