Mini Gators School Programme Launches
Margate Football Club proudly began a new schools programme last week, combining with PACE Academy to provide local primary schools with fun coaching sessions and some MFC goodies!
Realising the importance of connecting with our local community, in particular children and young people, the Mini Gators programme was launched last Thursday at Holy Trinity Primary School.
Through the sessions, the club hopes to inspire children not only to participate in sport, but also to see MFC as their local club and a club to be proud of!
James Hood, teacher at Holy Trinity School was delighted to help the club start the programme and revealed how much the children enjoyed their day.
“It was a brilliant day for the kids, they got some top class coaching and also learned about the opportunities at Margate FC to develop their football further with the Mini Gators program and other bits and pieces. They're all really enthused about playing more football in the future. And all in all, had a great day.”
Margate FC Director Ricky Owen was equally pleased to see the programme take off after months of planning and hard work behind the scenes.
“It’s great to finally start the project, and the staff and children at Holy Trinity & St Johns where fantastic to work with. We are now looking forward to visiting more Margate based primary schools in the lead up to Christmas.”
Ricky added, “The club’s owner is very keen on community engagement and we have already seen the impact of various schemes on a match day and are already planning other projects for 2018 onwards."
