Mills and Taylor Sign For Gate
Margate Football Club is delighted to announce the re-signing of left-back Tom Mills and signing of Folkestone Invicta striker Joe Taylor.
Mills was a coup-signing for The Gate this time last year, when he made a move from Maidstone United to join Hartsdown Park.
Taylor meanwhile re-joins Margate having previously spent 15 years as a youth player progressing through into the first team.
First Team Joint Manager Mike Sandmann was delighted with the double signing announced at the club’s Question and Answer session on Thursday evening.
“We’re really happy with another two great additions to the squad. Joe is a fantastic signing for us, he knows the club well having played here as a youth player, so it’s nice that fans will be able to give him a warm welcome back.”
“Millsy is another key player to retain. Fans saw the quality and stability he brings to our defence and I’ve said it before, it’s a real testament to the club that players are committed to what we’re trying to build here.”
Sandmann also confirmed that young goalkeeper Patrick Lee has departed the club in the pursuit of regular first team football elsewhere.
The club would like to thank Patch for his hard work and effort during his time at the club and wish him well for the future.
