CLUB NEWS / Margate Remembers Les Riggs
Les Riggs managed The Gate in the early 70s, he was in charge when Margate famously hosted Spurs in the FA cup in front of some 12 to 14 thousand people. After retiring, Les sponsored a Cup Competition for Thanet Primary Schools that is still running today.
Les sadly passed away in the New Year.
Ahead of kick-off against Cray Wanderers, the club will pay a pre-match tribute including the launch of the “Les Riggs Memorial Award” within the club. Les' family will be in attendance and we will warmly remember a man who gave so much to our club, together at our home, Hartsdown Park.
