Two Further Departures
Margate Football Club can confirm that both Kadell Daniel and Elliott Reeves have both left the club.
Striker Daniel originally joined the club at the end of the 2018/19 season on loan from Dover Athletic before making the move permanent in the summer of 2019.
The striker was a fans favourite at Hartsdown Park after netting some important goals for the Blues and Manager Jay Saunders is disappointed to be losing one of his key strikers.
“Kadell has been fantastic for us but unfortunately he has got himself a new job and he is looking to do a little less travelling”.
“Losing someone of Kadell’s quality is disappointing on the pitch but also off it. He was a character around the squad and our fans loved him but he come down from full time football and now the job he does means he wants to do less travelling which I completely understand and we wish him all the best”.
“I spoke with Kadell and I’ve told him if things don’t work out then the door is always open for a return” added Saunders.
Another player heading out of the door at Hartsdown Park is striker Elliott Reeves who is heading back home to the Midlands after his current job role was not renewed.
Another fans favourite, Reeves joined during the 2019/20 season and enjoyed some memorable moments in a Blues shirt and again leaves the club with the blessing of his manager.
Saunders added “Losing Elliott is another big blow as he was a brilliant lad and he is gutted that he can’t stay with us because of work commitments”.
“But it is the same as it was with Kadell where I told Elliott that the door is always open if things don’t work out at home and he finds himself back down this way”.
Despite losing several players over the past week, Saunders remains positive about assembling a competitive squad for when the season returns.
“I just want to pass on the message to the supporters to keep the faith. It’s an unprecedented time at the moment and we don’t know when the season will start etc but we are having positive conversations and we hope to make some positive announcements over the coming weeks”.
