Free Tickets For Those Who Paint Thanet Blue
Margate FC is offering all Gate supporters who attend the Isle of Thanet Cup at the Southwood Stadium on Saturday 31 July the opportunity to watch our final home game of pre-season on Saturday 7th August for free.
This year’s contest is to be held at Ramsgate with our hosts setting the ticket prices for the game at £10 an adult and £5 a child. You can buy tickets for the match here.
The Margate FC board is aware this will be an increase to usual pre-season prices for our supporters and consequently want to make sure we encourage a large contingent of Margate fans to join us for the game.
The board wants to ensure no supporter is priced out or put off painting Thanet blue, so as a token of our appreciation for attending the match, any Margate fan who buys a ticket for the Isle of Thanet Cup game, can come along to The Gate’s game against Hythe Town on Saturday 7th August for free.
Club Chairman Ricky Owen said:
“The Isle of Thanet Cup is a historic pre-season game that means a lot to our supporters, players and staff alike. After a tough few seasons for football clubs, we appreciate how important income generation is, the ticket offer being promoted is one that might not benefit Margate fans and we wanted to do something within our power to put that right.”
“We hope the offer of coming along for free is one fans will take up and know that all involved at the club are thankful for their support in every respect. The pre-season schedule has been a somewhat volatile one with Covid19 continuing to pose problems from an administrative and coaching point of view, however we look forward to continuing our preparations and having supporters back on the terraces alongside us is fantastic.”
To make the most of this ticket offer, the club simply asks those supporters who attend the Cup clash to bring evidence of their ticket purchase, in the form of a print-out of their email receipt or show our turnstile volunteers at Hartsdown Park your digital email receipt when you visit Hartsdown Park.
