An Update From The V-C And Manager
It has been a frustrating start to the season for The Gate, the team has produced some impressive performances without always getting the points they deserve.
Whilst the league table does not make for good reading for Margate fans at this early point in the season, everyone involved is pulling together and believe that with some new additions to the squad, the team will certainly start to climb the table.
Manager Jay Saunders continues working around the clock to bring in fresh attacking options to enhance the squad and add much needed goals.
“It’s something we identified very early on and it’s clear after eight league games, we need to recruit some attacking players to our squad. It’s something we have been working on, we’ve been extremely close to getting deals over the line and I’m hopeful we may have some new recruits soon.”
“The boys have shown glimpses and performances for us to build upon and we will work hard on the training ground to gel things whilst looking for those right additions.”
Vice-Chairman, Ricky Owen is in daily contact with Saunders and adds:
“Jay has the extra support and opportunity to bring in additional players to strengthen, and I know he’s working incredibly hard to do so. But finding the right players – in terms of position, quality, and personality – is not easy, it takes time.”
Owen added, “There’s no hiding the fact we need two or three players, we all see that but these players need to improve us and have an impact, otherwise there’s no point.”
Keep an eye on The Gate's website and social media channels for squad updates and the latest news.
