MATCH PREVIEW / Bognor Regis Town (A) - 21st January 2023
Bognor Regis Town (A) - 21st January 2023
Margate make the journey to Sussex for a second week running as they look gain their first win of 2023 as they visit Bognor Regis Town.
A 4-0 defeat at Horsham last weekend has left the Blues just six points above the Isthmian Premier Division relegation zone. Saturday’s opposition sit just one place and one point ahead of the Blues in the current league standings.
The ‘Rocks’ are currently on an eight game run without a win, ironically their last win came on exactly the same date as the Blues when they won on Tuesday 21st November 2022 beating Bowers & Pitsea 2-1 in the league.
These two sides have already met this season when the Blues recorded a 2-0 win at Hartsdown Park in November. The Blues have an indifferent run of form when visiting the ‘Rocks’. A 4-1 defeat last season was proceeded by a 2-0 defeat in October 2020, however a 2-1 win in January 2020 saw them make it three unbeaten on the road to Bognor having drawn in 2018 and won in 2015.
The Blues will await to see if Taylor Fisher is fit enough to return to the squad as he continues to recover from a collarbone injury. The Blues have doubts over Matty Macarthur who was injured in Gillingham’s FA Youth cup defeat in midweek.
Supporters should note that there is a 9am pitch inspection ahead of this game which is scheduled to kick off at 3pm. If you can’t be there we will have full match coverage on Twitter from 2:30pm at @margate_fc
