Margate welcome Carshalton Athletic to Hartsdown Park on Saturday for their first home league game of the Isthmian Premier Division 2021/22 campaign.

The ‘Gate got off to the perfect start last weekend with a 1-0 win away at Wingate & Finchley with Ben Greenhalgh netting the only goal of the game in the 31st minute.

Things didn’t start as well this season for Carshalton Athletic and their manager Peter Adeniyi after they suffered a 4-2 home defeat to Enfield Town.

Margate have no new injury concerns ahead of the game and to add an extra storyline to the clash, ‘Gate keeper Pat Ohman will line up against his former side after keeping five clean sheets in nine appearances for the Robins last season.

Despite last season being cut short due to Coronavirus, this fixture was one of few that Margate competed in. On a wet and windy afternoon at Hartsdown Park in September 2020 as the Blues fought back from 2-0 down to rescue a 2-2 draw thanks to a Carshalton own goal and a 90th minute John Ufuah penalty.

Manager Jay Saunders expects a difficulty fixture despite Carshalton’s disappointing start. “Carshalton will be a team I expect to be up there at the end of the season”.

“Peter has done a fantastic job there so it will be a tough game but it will be great to be back at Hartsdown Park in front of a crowd playing competitive football”.

Kick off at Hartsdown Park is 3pm, however the turnstiles open at 1:30pm with spectators able tobuy tickets in advance on-line by clicking here or pay cash or card on the turnstiles.

Regardless of the result we want to celebrate by hosting a happy (two) hour in the Hartsdown Bar at full-time.

Between full-time and 18:45 fans from both clubs are encouraged to join us in the Hartsdown Bar where a pint of Fosters and small bottles of wine will be available for just £3. ?
