Sandmann Departs Hartsdown
As part of Margate Manager Jay Saunders’ ongoing preparations for the 2020/21 campaign, the club can confirm Assistant Manager Mike Sandmann departs Hartsdown Park.
Due to a change in Mike’s commitments, it has been mutually agreed he
leaves HDP after three and a half years with The Gate.
Saunders thanked Mike for his dedication and support since he came on board to lead the side in 2019.
“Mike has been a fantastic colleague and become a good friend since I returned to the club as Manager. I want to place on record my personal thanks to him for all his efforts. I wish him all the best for the future.”
Adding to this, Vice-Chairman Ricky Owen thanked Mike for his vital contribution to the club on behalf of the Board of Directors.
“Mike has been an exceptional professional throughout his time at Margate. Always committed, always supportive, his conduct has been first-class, both on and off the pitch. The board would like to thank Mike for everything, and like Jay, wish him all the best."
Having been a part of the coaching set-up at The Gate since 2017, Mike thanked those involved with making his time at the club an enjoyable one.
“I’ve had a great time working for Margate and want to thank all the players and staff I’ve worked with during my time. I’d like to extend that thanks to the supporters who have been brilliant over the years. The club has some exciting times ahead with plans around the ground development and I wish Jay and everyone the best moving forward.”
