Margate Midfielder Montel Agyemang admitted it was “frustrating” to lose two games on the bounce, but “personal pride” will help him and his team mates prepare for Haringey Borough on Saturday, regardless of the play-off picture in the Isthmian Premier Division.

Defeats away at Worthing, and Potters Bar Town on Tuesday evening mean the ‘Gate now sit ten points outside the play-off places with eight games remaining, however, Agyemang says there is still plenty to play for.

“Nothing is impossible in terms of the play-offs, but either way we all have personal pride to play for, and none of us in the squad want to lose games of football”.

“We also have two cup competitions to play for and we will be doing our best to make sure we have some silverware to lift come the end of the season”.

The SE Dons maestro joined the ‘Gate in the summer and says winning games is always his focus.

“We all play to win. I see every game as an opportunity for us to improve on the week before, regardless of that result. The outcome at the end of the season, whether we make the play-offs or not should not contribute to how we prepare for each game”.

Saturday sees Haringey Borough the visitors to Hartsdown Park, and Agyemang says he always wants to “improve” on results when the Blues don’t win in the reverse fixture.

The ‘Gate conceded a 94th minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw when the sides met at Coles Park in November.

“We always want to improve, especially when we face a team that we didn’t beat last time. It will be a tough game but we will prepare right and hopefully get the win”.

Montel Agyemang is sponsored this season by Terry Scott both Home and Away.
