Blues Host Charity Fun Run
Margate Football Club was once again proud to host the annual 10K, 5K and Fun Run for the Kent Association for the Blind this year, as over 450 superheroes set off from Hartsdown Park to raise money for the charity.
Now in its second year, the popular run sees runners of all abilities, adults and children come together to raise funds for the KAB, who continue to support people in Kent with visual impairment.
As well as the races setting off and finishing at Hartsdown Park, the Charity once again used our facilities to welcome different businesses, both national and local to provide additional activities throughout the day.
The Charity has supported Director of Communications Ryan Day since 2018 when he suffered from visual impairment, and he was delighted to once again host the event.
“It is important that we as a club continue to provide support to our local community. The use of our facilities at Hartsdown Park is just one of the ways we can do that”.
“The KAB remains one of my most important support mechanisms after suffering sight loss, so to be able to host this event here will always be special to me”.
On the day, the Charity raised over £3000 which will go towards continuing to support people in Kent who suffer from sight impairment.
