Margate Support Rainbow Laces Campaign
As part of Margate FC's continued support of the Kent FA Football Equality Charter, the club will join hundreds across the country to unite in support of LGBT+ inclusivity, by dedicating our fixture on Saturday 25th November to raising awareness of Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign.
Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign aims to make sport everyone’s game with national teams, leading clubs, professional players, fans and grassroots players from across football showing their support for LGBT+ people in sport.
Deny Wilson, Margate FC General Manager said: “We are proud to support Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign. The club works very hard to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for supporters attending games at Hartsdown Park and it's a continued part of our agenda to provide a positive experience for all, that stretches well beyond 90 minutes on a Saturday afternoon or Tuesday evening."
The first team will wear Rainbow Laces for their game against Needham Market later this month and there will be a raised profile around work taking place to make the game a fairer place for all. Representatives from the Kent FA Equality Advisory Group will also be in attendance to watch the game.
Wilson added, "It will be a great privilege for us to have members from the Kent FA here at our game. Lots of people know about the work happening here - both on and off the pitch - and this is yet another positive initiative we are looking forward to."
