MATCH REPORT / Corinthian Snatch Late Win at HDP
Margate fell to a second pre-season defeat as they went down 3-2 against Isthmian side Corinthian at Hartsdown Park on Wednesday night.
The opening 15 minutes of the game saw both sides evenly matched until the visitors took the lead as Clarke netted the opening goal of the evening.
The game continued in a somewhat cautious manner and it was the visitors that doubled their lead shortly in the second half as Housego netted a delightful free-kick.
Margate hit back shortly after as Martial Godo danced his way through the Corinthian back line to net his first goal for the club.
The hosts levelled almost immediately as Dan Thompson pounced to net his second goal of pre-season after netting the winner against Sheppey United on Saturday.
Margate looked most likely to snatch a winner in the last moments but the visitors stole the show as Edmundson poked home to seal the win.
Margate return to action on Saturday as they welcome Guildford City to Hartsdown Park with kick-off at 3pm.
