Brightlingsea v Margate - 15th February

Margate travel to Essex on Saturday looking to overcome Brightlingsea Regent and storm Dennis as they look for their first win in four games in the BetVictor Isthmian Premier League.

Saunders side will look to build on last weekend’s last gasp draw at home to Corinthian Casuals thanks to a late effort from Noel Leighton and they face a side in Brightlingsea that are struggling at the wrong end of the table.

Kem Izzet’s men have just one win in their last four games but more worryingly for the Regent faithful they currently sit bottom of the league table but they are within three points of safety, despite having played a game more than their nearest rivals.

A 2-1 defeat to Kingstonian last weekend sent them to the bottom of the table and their only win from their last four games came via a 1-0 win over Bishops Stortford at the end of January.

Regent have conceded the second highest amount of goals in the league having let in 53 this season, only Merstham have conceded more and they have only netted 22 times in the 29 games they have played so far.

Margate have no new injury worries ahead of the game and could name the same starting eleven from last weekend’s draw with Casuals at Hartsdown Park. These two sides last met on the opening day of the season as Margate largely dominated the game but were held to a 0-0 draw at a sun soaked Hartsdown Park.

Out of their previous five games against each other the Blues have yet to suffer defeat having won four of the five games, drawing just once this season. In those five games Margate have netted nine times and conceded just twice, both goals in one game meaning that the Blues also have four clean sheets in five games against Regent.

Kick off at The Taydal Stadium is 3pm but if you can’t be there then you can stay right up to date on our Twitter @margate_fc
