'Gate sign Angels duo on dual reg basis
By Josh Cole
We are delighted to announce the double signing of winger Francis Mampolo and striker Obed Yeboah from Tonbridge Angels on a dual registration basis!
20-year-old Mampolo is a product of Soccer Elite Academy where he managed to obtain trials at Championship side Swansea City and Premier League side Newcastle United. He also has experience at Sutton Common Rovers and Westfield before spending last season with Biggleswade Town.
The winger joined Tonbridge Angels in October and has since played 13 games for the National league south outfit, scoring one goal.
Obed Yeboah follows his teammate to Thanet after a short stint at Tonbridge playing four games since signing in the back end of November.
Fans might recognise the surname as Obed is the nephew of former Leeds goalscorer, Tony Yeboah. 19-year-old Obed was born in the Netherlands but has dual citizenship with Ghana. The 19-year-old spent his youth career at AFC Wimbledon where he featured on the bench once against Barrow. After he was released from Wimbledon, he joined Truro City at the start of this season where he made 11 appearances before moving to Kent.
Manager Mark Stimson says “I am delighted to welcome Francis and Obed to Margate, they will bolster our frontline. I look forward to working with them both and getting the most out of their abilities to steer the club up the table”.
Both players will be available for Saturday’s clash at Hartsdown Park against Concord Rangers.
