CLUB NEWS / Chairman Pays Tribute Les Riggs
Les, who lived in Broadstairs with wife Georgina, not only managed The Gate but was a former neighbour to Painter who said:
"I send my sincerest condolences to the Riggs family. Les was a fantastic man and fondly remembered by football fans across Thanet having managed both Margate and Ramsgate. Having known Les personally, I was deeply saddened. His family and friends are very much in my thoughts at this sad time."
As well as managing both Thanet sides, Les had a number of links to the area. He had local school football tournaments named after him and also owned a sports shop on Northdown Road in Cliftonville which bears his name. He was the former captain of the North Foreland Golf Club.
Every at Hartsdown Park echos the sentiments of our Club Chairman. Rest in peace, Les.
