Margate return to Isthmian Premier Division action on Saturday after their midweek cup heroics as they welcome Leatherhead to Hartsdown Park.

The Blues successfully progressed to the 2nd Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup with a 4-2 win away at Thame on Tuesday, however they return to league action looking to extend their unbeaten start to their league campaign.

Leatherhead travel to Hartsdown Park having also progressed in the Emirates FA Cup thanks to a 1-0 home win over Whitstable Town on Tuesday. The Tanners, managed by former Margate boss Nikki Bull have endured a difficult start to their league campaign having won once and lost three times in their opening four games.

With the departure of Defender Chris Sessegnon in the week it looks likely that Manager Jay Saunders could start the same back four as he has since Sessegnon’s injury.

With the return of Vance Bola and Montel Agyemang from injury on Tuesday from the bench, Saunders could make some changes to his midfield and attack, especially after a hat-trick from Jake Embery on Tuesday night.

Despite Covid-19 having a huge impact on non-league football, fixtures between these two sides have been somewhat regular given the circumstances. The last meeting was a 0-0 draw last season in October, shortly before the season was halted.

Prior to that another 0-0 draw was played out in December 2019 at Hartsdown Park, coincidentally you have to go back to the 26th January 2019 for the last time a goal was scored in this fixture after the two sides fought out a 1-1 draw at Hartsdown Park.

Kick off at Hartsdown Park is scheduled for 3pm with gates open to supporters from 1:30pm.

Tickets can be purchased in advance here.
