Chatham Town (A) - 10th February 2024

By Josh Cole

A short trip to Chatham for a Kent derby is up next as we travel to the Bauvill for matchday #29!

Sam Blackman and Lewis Knight will undertake a fitness test before kick-off to decide whether they are fit enough to play. New signing Mo Kamara is available to play!

OPPONENTS SEASON SO FAR

After being promoted as league winners the campaign before, the Chats continued their hot form into the Isthmian Premier Division with five wins out of their first five games. A heavy defeat to Cray Wanderers followed next, losing 1-5 at home, which came before two draws and one win. They then lost once more, this time at Hartsdown Park when we beat them 2-0. A win, draw, and a loss, followed the defeat at HDP. They found their form once more as three straight wins put them back into the title discussion. Inconsistent results followed, however, with two losses against Canvey and Hastings, which sandwiched a win away at Haringey. A good point away at Horsham and a massive win at home against Hornchurch got their hopes of gaining promotion back. Two more wins followed suit, before a loss away against in form Bognor Regis. Their last five games have seen three wins and two losses including a big defeat away to fellow promotion chasers Wingate & Finchley 4-2, which sees them sit in 2nd place on 55 points with 17 wins, four draws and eight losses.

Chatham are 2nd in the home table with ten wins, one draw and three losses, whilst we continue to struggle on the road still only winning two games.
