Club Statement: Peter Cove
Margate Football Club are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our Health & Safety officer Peter Cove.
Covey, as he was best known around Hartsdown Park was adored and respected by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.
From his incredible Health & Safety knowledge, to his charm and his sometimes very bad jokes, Peter had a way of lighting up everyone’s life that knew him.
His role as Health and Safety officer has been vital to the club over the years, and his presence at away games in the Boardroom over the years has supported the club incredibly.
All of our thoughts are with Peter’s family, colleagues and friends at this incredibly tough time.
Margate Chairman Ricky Owen added: “Peter was a servant to Margate FC. He dedicated everything he had to the club even when he was battling his medical issues and illnesses.”
“Peter will live long in the memory of everyone at this football club.”
We will remember the life of Peter Cove with a minute’s applause.
