CLUB NEWS / Blues Retain Kasim And Sterling
Tyrone Sterling joined the club at the start of last season and was a key feature in the backline for the ‘Gate playing over 32 times! Sterling will also utilise his experience from a coaching perspective, talking up the role of player/coach for the 2024/25 season!
Yaser Kasim was a big part of our success towards the back end of 2022/23 when we won the Kent Senior Cup! Kasim scored in the semi-final win against Ramsgate!
The midfielder left at the start of last season to play National League South football with Eastbourne but rejoined the ‘Gate in February, however due to injuries, his playing time was limited in the latter stages.
Ben Greenhalgh commented on managing to retain both of these players: “Tyrone was very helpful last year in all areas; he was a great influence in the changing room and his experience speaks for itself. He’s someone I can rely on and trust and he’s shown great loyalty wanting to commit and be a strong part of Margate!”
“Yaser is someone I was lucky enough to play with at Brighton and to watch what he went on to do in the football league was inspiring. Having knowledge in our midfield this season will be vital and he is another one who is keen to be a part of getting Margate back up!”
