Starting #Margate125 Celebrations
This Saturday, supporters who attended our Isle of Thanet Cup victory at Southwood Stadium will be able to attend the match for free. Not only that but supporters will be able to have a photo with the trophy as we begin to turn our 125th birthday celebrations up a notch.
History has been made this season with both the men’s and women’s teams lifting the Isle of Thanet Trophy. Jay Saunders’ side beating The Rams 5-2 away from home last weekend and Evan Paris’ team recording a 3-0 win back in June. The two games were watched by a combined crowd of over 2,000 supporters, marking a victory for football in Thanet as a whole.
From 2pm to kick-off this Saturday, fans can head to the Hartsdown Bar for a pic with BOTH trophies and are encouraged to share their photos with us on social media, uploading with the hashtag #Margate125.
On Saturday, not only do we look foward to welcoming Hythe's senior side on Saturday, their under 9s will be in attendance too. Margate Youth FC host a Football Showcase from 12:45pm with both teams invited to be mascots for the match too.
And like a Ben Greenhalgh hat-trick, good things come in threes, and a trio of mobile phone backgrounds have also been produced to mark the start of a special season for The Gate. These are available to download via the links below.
Don’t forget, there is a week left to purchase Season Tickets for the upcoming 2021/22 campaign at our special price of just £125. From Friday 13th August, prices will increase. Click here to buy yours.
And if you’d like to join us on Saturday for the visit of Hythe Town, purchase your ticket here or at the turnstiles.
