Disciplinary Player Updates
Ahead of this Saturday's BetVictor Isthmian League clash against Bowers and Pitsea, the club can update on some disciplinary matters.
The Gate submitted an appeal following Ben Swift's dismissal for violent conduct against Horsham FC in the Velocity Trophy. The club felt confident with the evidence submitted, the ban would be overturned. We can confirm we have received receipt of The FA's decision and our Club Captain will be unavailable for the next three games.
Striker Noel Leighton will be unavailable for The Gate's double-header of home fixtures missing the Bowers and Wingate and Finchley games due to collection 10 yellow cards this campaign.
Kadell Daniel serves the final game ban for his red card this Saturday and will be available for selection on Tuesday evening.
Looking ahead to The Bowers visit, Manager Jay Saunders believes his side will have to dig deep to take a further three points from the side they beat 1-0 earlier this season.
“They’ve got some good players and a good togetherness about them. We have to match that and hopefully show some extra quality.”
"Our squad is light at the moment with suspensions and injuries but we will stick together, having back-to-back games at home is positive because we have the boost of our home supporters. They'll be opportunity for players to step up and be counted and six points we want to add to our tally."
