Wanadio Hat-Trick Sinks Blues

Hat-trick hero Luke Wanadio’s catalogue of scintillating strikes was enough to lead Dulwich Hamlet to a resounding 4-1 victory over Margate at Hartsdown Park.

Wanadio opened the scoring with a wonderful strike as he chested the ball down and unleashed a half-volley into the top corner of Harry Seaden’s goal. This was much to the dismay of Mark Simson and his side who believed Tyrone Sterling was fouled in the build-up.

After Jerome Binnom-Williams bulldozed his way to Hamlet’s second, Wanadio’s cross turned shot caught Seaden off guard to give the visitors a comfortable three goal cushion. Wanadio finished off his third in style, firing into the bottom corner from across the box at a tight angle to cap off the forwards hat-trick.

The goal came at the worst time for the Gate however scoring just 12 minutes earlier in a period in which they dominated proceedings. Steve Cawley got on the end of a neat corner routine between Ben Greenhalgh and Domininc Vose to head Greenhalgh’s low cross into the bottom corner in hopes to spark a remarkable comeback.

Minutes later Fyn Rutherford missed a golden opportunity to draw the Gate within touching distance of an equaliser heading the ball no more than two yards the wrong side of the post. Dulwich would then head up the other end of the pitch with Wanadio striking a killing blow to the home side.

It has to be said that if luck was with us, and Rutherford’s chance had gone in, you would not count us out for getting an equalising goal.

Our tough run of fixtures in which we have faced four play-off chasing sides ends with our toughest test against second place Chatham Town next Saturday.
