Wynter Is Here and December Will Be A Big Month
Margate Defender Tom Wynter admits that December will be a big month for the Blues as they look to maintain the pressure on the play off places in the Bostik Premier League.
Games against Burgess Hill Town, Hendon, Kingstonian, Brightlingsea Regent, Wingate & Finchley, Dorking Wanderers and Leiston give the ‘Gate an opportunity to earn 21 points over a busy festive schedule.
“It is a big month because there are so many games. We play seven league games so there are 21 points available and there is no doubt that we want to earn all of them”.
“We are on a great run of form at the moment and confidence is high so we want to keep that going as long as we possibly can”.
Wynter was voted player of the month in October and he is pleased with his own contribution so far but admits that whilst winning personal accolades is always nice, he would rather be winning games as a team.
“It was great to win the October player of the month and it is an honour to win recognition from the fans but it is a team game and we as players have a duty to perform at our best every week and give the fans and the club 100%”.
Whilst 2017 has been good for Wynter is he hoping for a successful 2018 with Margate and hopes that the club and him will be celebrating more success over the coming 12 months.
“We have had a great start to the season and I hope for the club and its supporters that the next 12 months will bring more joy especially for the supporters who deserve a lot of praise for sticking by the club over a very difficult two year period”.
