Watt Believes Side "Done Enough" Against Bath
Margate Manager Steve Watt believes his side done enough to earn a win at Bath City on Tuesday night in the Buildbase FA Trophy but knows his side will have to work as hard when they welcome the National League South side to Hartsdown Park for a replay on Tuesday evening.
Kane Haysman saw his glancing header spectacularly saved in the final 15 minutes as Margate looked to have pinched a winner at Twerton Park and despite the draw, Manager Watt was delighted with his side again.
“Man for man my lads have stood toe to toe with a strong, professional National League South side who I would expect to be pushing for a play-off place come the end of the season”.
“Not only did we match them I think we were unlucky not to actually win the tie on the evening especially with the incredible save at the end to deny Kane (Haysman) a lovely goal”.
The draw in the West Country means Margate are now unbeaten in 10 in all competitions and Watt says his sides form comes as no surprise.
“It doesn’t surprise me because we have a good team and players that want to put their bodies on the line for this Club. We know what we want to achieve this season and going on runs like this certainly help us achieve those aims”.
Despite the positivity surrounding Tuesday nights result, Watt warned that his side will have to play just as well to progress at home.
“Like I mentioned Bath are an established National League South side who are doing very well so to beat them at home will be difficult but if we maintain the same disciplines that we did on Tuesday then we have a great chance”.
