The centre-half was again a key player for the Gate as they narrowly missed out on the Isthmian Play-offs. Swift started his career at Maidstone United Academy before earning a move to the Premier League with Aston Villa but after an injury plagued stint at Villa Park the young defender opted to join the Blues. Swift spent the off-season at Manchester City training ground as part of Sky Sports V9 Academy run by Leicester and England striker Jamie Vardy.
