INTERVIEW / Steve Watt: "Our Start Was Electric"
Steve Watt: "Our Start Was Electric"
Margate Manager Steve Watt says two quick goals against Tooting & Mitcham helped put the fixture to bed early on.
Margate were 2-0 ahead within 20 minutes thanks to a brace from Jordan Chiedozie and Watt says their start was electric.
“It was a fantastic start from the boys after a long journey on Saturday. To be 2-0 up after 20 minutes was electric and I was very proud with the whole performance from start to finish”.
The Blues extended their lead further in the 64th minute thanks to a third goal for the club by Kane Haysman and the Boss says his team deserve the credit that they are getting at the minute.
“Football at this level is difficult because the boys work full time in the week and Tuesdays are always difficult but we have worked really hard on improving our results and our league position and I think that is definitely starting to show”.
With the club still awaiting a decision on who they will face on Saturday in the Buildbase FA Trophy, Watt is looking forward to finally get back to Hartsdown Park after three weeks away.
“The FA Trophy situation has been a tough one to take for me because we have missed out football, finance and plenty of other initiatives that were planned through no fault of our own but we appreciate the situation and just look forward to getting back to Hartsdown Park”.
“The atmosphere that the new stand created last time against Staines was brilliant and I hope that continues this weekend against whoever we are playing”.
