Pre-Match Message From The Gaffer

Good afternoon Blues fans,

I just wanted to say this message ahead of our game this afternoon. 

We have enjoyed a good pre-season campaign. Perhaps we didn’t win as many games as we wanted, however pre-season is always about getting minutes into the boys and we did that with nine competitive fixtures. Not only did we get minutes into the boys, we worked on new shapes, new patterns of play, and worked on partnerships across the field.

 It isn’t easy when you have to change the bulk of your squad each season. Obviously in this instance, some players left to join Jay at Tonbridge, while some I didn’t feel were the standard that I expect from my players, therefore we have seen a bigger overturn of players than any manager would necessarily want.

That said, I feel that we have assembled a squad now that has the ideal mixture of experience, youth and most importantly desire to win games.

We are fully aware that this will be a tough game today. Kingstonian are a team that at the start of the season you think will be challenging at the right end of the table come April. We are hungry to get off to a winning start today though, and I hope you will continue to show your incredible support this afternoon.

 It is great to finally be taking charge of my first competitive game as Margate Manager. 

Get behind the boys, and let’s hope we can earn those three points this afternoon.
